We always hear the praises being sung of 'scientific truth'. Far more important than scientific truth, however, is the truth of life. The truth of life is learnt by situating all forms of life within the cosmic structure in order to see how they vibrate in harmony and how they participate in the life of the Whole.
It is therefore not sufficient to observe and study each element of nature in minute detail; you must go further and see how they are all connected, understand how that indefinable 'something', which none of the elements has separately, circulates from one to the other: that 'something' that is life. True knowledge is found in life. As soon as you separate the elements, life is no longer present. The quintessence of a mineral or plant is not revealed through knowledge of its make-up, smell, taste or color, because if you look at something in isolation, you cut it off from life. Unite something with all the other elements of earth and sky, then life becomes apparent and true knowledge is yours.
