You will enhance the power of a prayer if you accompany it …

You will enhance the power of a prayer if you accompany it with a breathing exercise. Begin, for example, with the first three requests of the ‘The Lord’s Prayer’. Sit down and place your hands on your knees. Inhale to the count of six while mentally saying: ‘Hallowed be thy name.’ While holding your breath to the count of six, say: ‘Thy kingdom come.’ And while exhaling to the count of six, say: ‘Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’ Repeat this exercise four or five times a day over a period of several weeks. For twenty centuries, millions of Christians have pronounced these words, and even if they were not fully conscious of their meaning, they have made a living formula of them in the invisible world, a reservoir of accumulated forces. If you repeat them consciously and reinforce them with your breathing, you will gain access to this great reservoir. You will attract all these beneficial energies to yourself and thereby enhance your work.
