There is a heat coming from the Sun and a heat coming from Mars. There is a cold coming from Saturn and a cold coming from the Earth. The Sun represents the vivifying warmth of love, and Mars the destructive fire of hatred. Saturn represents the coldness of thought and wisdom, and the Earth the cold of separation and death.
When Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden, they nourished themselves with the fruits of the Tree of life, which gave them beneficial warmth. Then when they wanted to eat the fruits of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil, they descended to earth where the cold of separation and death reigns, and they stayed there... In the warmth of paradise, they were like cells linked together, like atoms animated by the same movement within a molecule of gas. But once on earth, Adam and Eve were struck by the sudden cold, and when they looked at each other, they realized that they were naked, that is, separated from each other. All the misunderstandings between human beings come from the thought that they are separate.
