The mission of human beings is to transform matter through the power of the spirit. But so many men and women still remain numb and fixed, a bit like stones! The characteristic of stones is their inability to move; they have to be constantly pushed and made to shift. Then, one day, they’re broken up by great blows from a hammer and turned into roads, bridges, houses and so on. Everyone should at least try to leave the mineral kingdom, to become a plant and grow and later learn how to move. Look at all the advantages there are in being able to be autonomous. Animals can look for food, escape danger, and shelter from bad weather. Humans will have made great progress when they develop these possibilities in their inner life. But it will still remain for them to gain real access to the human kingdom, in other words, to the world of thought and reason, so they can become master of their own destiny.
