'Be perfect as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.' …

'Be perfect as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.' Jesus summed up the quintessence of religion in this sentence. Since God is so far away from mankind, one wonders how Jesus could have given such a far-fetched ideal: to be perfect as God himself! On the physical plane, you can be contented with trivial things, and be thankful for each one of them, but on the spiritual plane, you must never be content; you must be ambitious, insatiable and reach for the highest ideal, for the most inaccessible: perfection! You must ask for all celestial gifts. Yes, you can ask for 100%... to obtain at least 1%! Ask for light to be in your thoughts, feelings, actions and physical body. The word 'light' summarizes and condenses all that is purest, most powerful, most beautiful and most sublime: God himself.
