You have a high ideal that you fail to achieve, it is too …

You have a high ideal that you fail to achieve, it is too difficult and you feel that you are just not up to it. So, you say to yourself, ‘It’s not worth going on; it’s stupid to keep trying. I’ve already wasted years in the pursuit of an unattainable ideal. I’m making a fool of myself in the eyes of the world. Everyone around me is successful in life and has achieved material prosperity. I’m the only one who is still waiting to see the results of all my work. But I’ve had enough; I give up!’ In so doing, you sever your tie with heaven, and that is foolish; whatever your failings or inadequacies you must never abandon your ideal. So many people of merit have put a stop to their work without realizing that if they had persevered, they would have reached their goal.
