Before you start judging any difficulty or trial as being …

Before you start judging any difficulty or trial as being unfortunate, ask yourself, ‘Is this really a misfortune? Isn’t it good fortune disguised, instead?’ As long as you do not ask this question, you will fight, rebel and derive no benefit from this difficulty, which was actually something good that you were unable to see as such. Humans rarely know how to see what is good or bad for them. How many situations they consider beneficial are, in fact, real dangers! Yes, how often have the consequences of success been to lead people into catastrophic situations! And, on the other hand, obstacles and failure, for those who’ve known how to use them, have become the true cause of future success. Think about this, and try to accept this way of reasoning and seeing things.
