You should do your spiritual work and let it commend you to …

You should do your spiritual work and let it commend you to others, not impose yourself on them. Your work will speak for you. You must continue to work until the end... fall down working but never give up. It is not degrading to fall. The sole honor is to die faithful to one's post, like the captain on his ship. Since you must inevitably die one day, you might as well die the right way! You must sacrifice everything for work, and work will give you the rest; if it is well done, even fame will come your way without your asking for it. This is what you must understand. Those who look only for money or fame without concerning themselves about the way they do their work are going to encounter terrible disappointments. You will obtain true wealth and fame only if you honestly do your work with the light and for the light.
