It can happen to anyone, that feeling as if you’re crossing …

It can happen to anyone, that feeling as if you’re crossing an arid desert inside yourself. You no longer feel any zest for life or desire to do anything; everything has become insipid, alien and empty. This is the most dreadful state a human being can fall into. The worst thing that can happen is not to encounter failure, become ill or lose all your money but to find you no longer have any love, ardour or faith, that you have lost the meaning of life. So you must think about preparing within yourself the essential elements you need to face this type of situation. Each difficulty has a specific solution; this solution could be light or will or humility or purity or love… That is why the disciples of a spiritual teaching must neglect nothing, omit nothing, so they can triumph over all the obstacles that, sooner or later, will be found on their path. Even if they do not need certain elements today, that is no reason for them not to try to acquire them, for they will need them sooner or later.
