The luminous entities of the invisible world are not there solely to protect us; they are also there to educate us, which is why they often leave us to manage on our own. Small children always have someone nearby, to see they come to no harm. But gradually they are left on their own to learn to be responsible for their actions. Well, it’s the same with the inner life. There are entities in the invisible world that take care of us for a time. But once someone has acquired a degree of spiritual maturity, they say, ‘It’s up to you now to look after yourself.’ Believers make a big mistake when they imagine heaven will always be there to protect them. It won’t, and it even allows them to be exposed to danger, so they can develop awareness and decide to be careful themselves.
