You want to meditate, but how can you succeed in doing so …

You want to meditate, but how can you succeed in doing so when your egotistical, malicious and vindictive thoughts have caused your astral and mental bodies to become so opaque that you can no longer communicate with the realities and beings of the spiritual world? Begin by ridding yourself of your prosaic preoccupations, your worries, grudges, annoyances and burdensome memories. Otherwise, no matter how long you stay there, eyes closed, waiting for the mechanism to be triggered that will allow your soul to leap into the light, nothing will happen. In such circumstances it is pointless even to try to meditate: you will achieve nothing, for your inner workings are clogged and will not function. And this will be the case until you understand that this inner work of detachment, of divestiture, is what is essential in life.
