Everything in nature is there to instruct us and make us …

Everything in nature is there to instruct us and make us reflect. Consider a fruit, a peach, for example: it is made of skin, flesh and stone. The skin is a protective covering and corresponds to the physical plane. The flesh, which is edible and life-giving, corresponds to the psychic plane, to the soul. And finally the stone, which we plant if we want a new tree to grow, corresponds to the divine plane, to the spirit. Transposed to another set of ideas, these three elements of the fruit correspond to the three fundamental virtues of wisdom, love and truth. The skin of the fruit represents wisdom: it defines, protects, envelops and preserves. The flesh of the fruit represents the love that is offered for others’ nourishment. Finally, the stone represents truth. We plant the stone so it can give birth to a new tree, and only what is true can perpetuate life.
