Unity is not uniformity. And although it is desirable for humans to come together in unity, this does not mean that their thoughts, aspirations, tastes or activities must be exactly the same. Life is extraordinarily rich in possibilities, and it is only in the essential aspects that people must find unity. We are each made up of three fundamental principles: mind, heart and will. The mind needs light (knowledge), the heart needs warmth (love), and the will needs to act in an attempt to manifest the light of the mind and the warmth of the heart. It is in this sense that human beings are identical: in their fundamental structure and in the needs and aspirations which correspond to this structure. Whether you are conscious of it or not, whether you agree with the idea or not, this is the truth about your essential being, and it is in this sense that you must all work to create unity.
