Destiny can be likened to a means of transport, to a passenger ship or train you would take to reach a certain city. Let’s say you have taken the express train to Nice: once you are on board you will go to Nice. But, at the same time, you have a certain amount of freedom on the train: you can leave your seat, change compartments or even carriages, walk in the corridors, read, sleep, look at the countryside, do nothing, engage with other travellers, go to the dining car, and so on. You can even throw yourself out of the door, although it is best not to do so. At the same time, then, you are both free and constrained. In the same way, you have come to earth in conditions and with elements that are fixed, but you nevertheless have a certain freedom of action and movement. What is important is to know what you are going to do with these possibilities, for you can use them either to free yourself or to restrict yourself even further.
