There are role models and there are role models. Some people get themselves noticed because they stand out or are successful in a certain area, and then lots of other people immediately want to imitate them. But if their superiority derives from their money, possessions or social standing, they are not good role models. Why not? Because they will be leading people along a path where they are constantly driven to dominate others, to undermine or humiliate them. Whereas those who are characterized by their spiritual qualities of kindness, wisdom, self-control, nobility, generosity, purity and selflessness are good role models, for they help others walk along the right path and find true happiness. All humans need role models, not models of material and social success but ones that make them aware of their true wealth, the riches of their heart, soul and spirit.
