Watching people, you realize that human beings set little store by self-control. They feel irritated, they fly off the handle, they fall to pieces at the slightest thing, and not only are they not in any way embarrassed about their behaviour, but they find it quite natural, because, they say, they are expressing how they feel, they are showing themselves as they are, and they are proud of it. Well no, there is nothing to be proud of. The only people who should be proud are those who have learnt self-control, because they become king of their realm - i.e. themselves - as a result, and all the treasures and powers of this realm are at their disposal. They then not only become rich and powerful, but they are able to do a great deal of good for their fellow human beings, who, upon contact with them, will also feel appeased and strengthened. And even the Intelligences that inhabit the universe come to assist them, because since they are capable of self-control, they feel they can deposit their treasures with them and they will not be wasted or lost.
