Some people, having decided to seek God and identify with Him, only manage to become insufferable to the point of quarrelling with all their friends and relations. They want the whole world to know that they are divinities and the result is endless clashes and fights. Well, no! When you strive to be more like God, to become one with Him, you should be more loving and generous, for God is love. If your quest for God leads you to crush and massacre others, it shows that you have not understood a thing. If you want to draw closer to God, you must begin by thinking and feeling that all human beings are within you, that they are you, just as He is. Then, instead of fighting or tormenting them, and becoming a monster in the process, you will feel their needs, worries and sufferings and you will be filled with the desire to help them. This is how one can really and truly come closer to the Deity.
