We must seek to unite heaven and earth within us, this is very important. In other words, we must learn to live with our divine ideal, but at the same time not lose sight of the realities of our life on earth. This is true equilibrium. But because this is difficult to achieve, we either see idealists who have very little grasp of what is going on around them, or materialists who are completely obsessed by the necessities of earthly life. The good thing about a spiritual teaching is that it trains people to understand that they are on earth to work, whilst their inner life is fully devoted to the realization of their divine ideal. They become one with this ideal, they merge with it without losing sight of the reality of earth. These are the people of the future.
