We always fear what we do not understand or do not know how …

We always fear what we do not understand or do not know how to use. In this, we are just like animals that fear fire, or like primitives who lived in fear of the forces of nature because they did not understand them. But now that human beings have tamed those forces, they work in electric or nuclear power plants and are not afraid to calmly press a button or turn on a tap, because they know how to handle these things. But someone who does not know would of course be afraid. So, civilized human beings are no longer afraid of the elements and the forces of nature, but does this mean that they are free of fear? No, they are still afraid – of their partner, their boss, of illness and poverty and, above all, of public opinion. They may fear neither God nor the devil, but they tremble before the court of public opinion and are ready to sacrifice everything to it. Indeed, there are many fears that civilized humans have not overcome, and if they have not yet done so, it is because they lack true knowledge. Only true knowledge allows us to conquer fear.
