Trials - don’t wait for them to arise before seeking ways to overcome them

Nothing we possess, or any of the beings we cherish, truly or permanently belongs to us. We risk losing them at any time, and when we do, we have to call on all our inner strengths to help us bear the loss. These strengths are found in faith, selfless love, humility and sacrifice, and we must consciously awaken them within, ready for the day we truly need them. When everything goes well for people, it is hard to convince them that they should concentrate on what is essential, so that when trials come they can remain standing. For you can be sure they will come – no one on earth is spared. So, why wait for poverty, illness or despair before you call on the forces of the spirit? If you are already well armed, not only will you overcome them, you will also emerge stronger.
