Tree - analogy with man: both made of light

Certain trees inspire us by their imposing mass, but in reality this matter is nothing other than a condensation of energy. Yes, a tree is a living creature that knows how to attract and accumulate solar energy. When we burn it, we see that it is made of a little earth, a little more water, and air in still greater quantity; but it is fire, the light, which makes up the greatest part of it. Man is made in the image of the tree: he too is made of fire and light and possesses the same quintessence as the sun. Why do we mislead ourselves by reiterating that we are dust and will return to dust? The initiates tell us just the opposite: ‘You are made of light, you can nourish yourself with light, and you will return to light.’ Yes, man is identical to a tree, and if he understood the laws with which nature works, he too could fix and contain this cosmic force, this energy of the celestial fire – all these forms of the spirit which are wisdom and love.
