The archangel Uriel presides over summer, the season of maturity. Uriel is fire, warmth and flame. The trees have already been in flower for a long time, and these flowers must produce fruit. But what is a flower? It is the organ of the plant that’s closest to the animal kingdom. This animal-like part of the plant possesses sensibility and something similar to a nervous system: it opens to the light and closes in the dark. We could go even further and say the plant’s astral body is formed within the flower. In fact, the flower is the plant’s sexual organ, where fertilization takes place. So, the archangel Uriel works with warmth to enable flowers to produce fruit.
