Silence - an expression of divine presence
Some people cannot stand silence because they sense it as a void, an absence: without movement, without life. In fact, there is silence and silence, and in general we can say that there are two kinds: that of death and that of the higher life. It is this silence of the higher life that we must love and cultivate within ourselves. This silence does not have to do with inertia, but with an intense work that is realized in the midst of perfect harmony. It is neither a void nor an absence, but a fulfilment comparable to the experience of two people united by a great love: they live something so profound that they cannot express it with gestures or words. Yes, true silence is the expression of a presence, the presence of the divine.
