Principle of life, the - within us on which we must focus
The principle of life and the principle of death constantly manifest themselves throughout all of nature and, consequently, in human beings too. As soon as a foetus is formed within a mother’s womb, the principle of death begins to fight against the principle of life. Its action is limited at first – it is the spirit that triumphs. But later on, once the spirit has succeeded in carrying out its projects within a person, it gradually leaves their body. Everything that is born must die, this is a law. It is impossible to conquer the principle of destruction, but we are not obliged to submit to it. When old age is upon us, when we lose our strength and our physical means, we must tell ourselves that now, more than ever, is the time to seek out other activities. For there are always other tasks and other sources of joy for those who know how to dig deep within themselves in order to bring forth their spiritual energy, and this energy is boundless.
