Eye of God - its presence within us

A common symbol in Christianity and in certain spiritual movements is that of the triangle with an eye at its centre. It represents the all-seeing eye of God. This does not mean, as some naively believe, that God is busy noting down all humans’ good and bad deeds in order to punish or reward them. The eye of God is in fact within humans themselves, and if they are able to feel this look, which we are told in the Bible ‘tests the minds and the hearts’, they will continue on the path of light without losing their way. For until a person’s spiritual awareness is sufficiently developed, this supervision is necessary and beneficial. In everyday life, those who are aware of their responsibilities do not need to be watched over; they even work better when they feel free. But in the spiritual realm we are talking about, humans must have reached a very high level of development for God’s supervision to no longer be necessary. In particular, they must be fully conscious of the importance of the cosmic work they are taking part in. Until they reach such a level of consciousness, this supervision is their protection, and not only should they accept it, they should also ask for it.
