Criticizing - the only time we have the right to do so

You only have the right to criticize in others those weaknesses you have managed to overcome in yourself. Each time you judge someone negatively, you yourself are judged. By whom? By your conscience, your inner jury. A voice arises in you asking, ‘Since you are giving your opinion, are you sure that you do not have the same failing in some form or other? You are already guilty of this weakness – why are you adding to it with your lack of tolerance and love? Do you not feel in your heart and soul that you are losing something?’ That is the punishment inflicted on those who judge others without having the right to do so: they lose some of their light. Some will say, ‘But we have never heard this voice you are speaking of!’ Of course not, because they have done everything to make themselves deaf to it.
