Alive, becoming - an exercise

Many people imagine they will be able to be successful in life while remaining cold, rigid, dull and unloving. Poor things! If they want to succeed, they first have to accustom themselves to aliveness, and you only become alive by learning to love. There are exercises you can do for that too. What are they? Here is a very easy one. Some time when no one can see you, raise your hand and send all your love to the earth and the sky, to the angels, to the Lord, and say, 'I love you, I love you, I want to be in harmony with you.' In this way, you acquire the habit of projecting this quality of vibrancy and intensity into space, and you become like a spring, like a sun. Why do some people hide behind a grim expression that sends out no feeling of love, kindness or even intelligence? They do not see how harmful this attitude is, as much for themselves as for others. They must learn to express love so that they become alive, so that their face and expression and their whole presence are alive.
