Do you know how to wait? Yes, to wait… in order to benefit …

Do you know how to wait? Yes, to wait… in order to benefit from the moments leading up to a joyous event? You are waiting for a letter from someone you love. It arrives at last, what joy! But since you are impatient, you hurry to open it, and with this, your joy disappears, because what does the letter contain? Often, nothing much. It was the expectation that was extraordinary! Yes, by waiting a little and trying to guess what the letter says, you savour some exceptional moments, and you can make them last as long as you want. But people are weak and easily tempted, and because they do not know how to resist, they destroy their joy. The letter is only an example to help you understand that you must practise prolonging your joys. When you work to obtain something, here too you can only take delight in what you experience beforehand in your mind, your heart and your soul. Once your projects are realized you are often disappointed, because you were expecting something more from them.
