Through this vehicle, Christ can work miracles."— Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov  The focus of this Newsletter is to acquaint you with The Mystery of Light: The Life and Teaching of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, by the internationally renowned Yoga researcher and historian of religion, Georg Feurstein, Ph.D. This was the first book-length account of the life and teaching of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. It contains insightful commentary that is interspersed with ample quotes from Omraam’s vivid talks.Dr. Feurstein’s purpose was “to introduce Aivanhov and his teaching to the English-speaking world and to provide the necessary background for understanding both.” Larry Dossey, M.D. wrote the Introduction and gave high praise to the book: “It is a great honor and privilege to recommend the teaching presented in this book. It is in a class with few others.” Part I of the book is a vibrant mini-biography of Omraam: his early life, his spiritual discipleship under the Master Peter Deunov, his years in France as a visionary, teacher, and healer, and his travels throughout the world, culminating in his final words: “Tell the brothers and sisters that I shall always be with them, that they may preserve unity and harmony, and continue to spread the Teaching in the whole world.” Part II focuses on the Teaching, with chapters on the following topics: Philosophy and the Mystery of Being Human The Magical Universe Deciphering the Book of Nature The Secret of the Sun The Spiritual Work The Discipline of Light Taming the Sexual Dragon The True Depth of Christianity Aïvanhov’s Teaching and Global Renewal The book ends with an interesting Appendix: Important Dates in the Life of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, followed by a very useful Index. All in all, it is a scholarly, yet simple, introduction to and overview of Omraam and his Teaching, written in a way that holds great appeal for seekers both within and outside established spiritual traditions.
