So many moralists have spoken about the sexual act, only to condemn it! But in fact the act is neither good nor bad of itself; it’s only the intention behind it, the way it’s experienced, that makes it criminal or holy. If people have not worked on themselves, if they have selfish or dishonest intentions, even if they decide to make this act legitimate by marrying, they will perhaps be approved of and applauded, and their family will give them a big celebration, the registrar will make their union legal and the Church will give them a blessing, but nature will condemn them. For what will they give to their wife or husband? Illnesses, vices, toxic influences, that’s all. So, even if the whole world approves of this act, the laws of living nature will pronounce against them. And conversely, some people may reproach you for having sexual relations with a woman or man to whom you are not officially married, but if you have poured heaven into the soul of this being and if he or she has become more spiritual, nobler and more beautiful thanks to your love, heaven above will be delighted and give you its blessings.
