Laziness - more dangerous than other shortcomings

All the habits that are detrimental to our physical and psychological health can be compared to intruders who have broken into a home and taken up residence there. There are countless occupants that each person therefore has to deal with, meaning all the instinctual impulses that assail them: jealousy, anger, resentment, avarice, greed, sensuality, pride, vanity, and so on. The most dangerous of all the possible occupants is without doubt laziness. Why? Because it grips your will. You understand what you should do, you feel you should do it, but you have no willpower. And as will is the starting point for all decision-making, your life forces are affected. But the day your mind truly understands what is beautiful and good and your heart desires it strongly enough, together they finally bring your will on board. Your laziness is then conquered, and there you have liberation!
