Imagine someone who knows absolutely nothing about anatomy …

Imagine someone who knows absolutely nothing about anatomy and has no idea how the human body is constructed. He might wonder: ‘How does all this come together to create a being who walks, breathes, eats and expresses thoughts and feelings?’ We would have to show him that, under the skin we see, we have flesh, organs, muscles, blood vessels, nerves and so on which cannot be seen and, finally, a skeleton which holds it all together. Well, the same holds true for the universe, but on a colossal scale. The universe is a body, the body of God, and our physical body is made in its image. Just as our body has a skeleton which holds it together, so too is the universe supported by a structure which holds everything in equilibrium, from the galaxies to the most infinitesimal particles of matter of which atoms are made. It is this structure that makes life possible.
